Things are Poppin at Tuesday Nail Cub!!

Designs were just poppin off the nail during Tuesday Nail Club today!! I worked on some embossed acrylic designs. I did a 5 petal  flower on a pink nail, makes a great accent nail. I also had a little fun making a summer/winter nail design. One nail has an acrylic sculpted seashell the other is a sculpted snowman!

Sara also showed off her talents today!! The Tiffany colored Orly polish goes so well w the black accented tip. She really shows her skills with the delicate designs on her other nails. I especially love the nail with the collar and the gold buttons!!! Amazing work girlie!!! :D

We had a visitor to our Nail Club today. Cat popped in to check out what we were doing and couldn't help but  to dip a brush in some paint and have a little fun!! Cat started on a design with a cute little giraffe. Then she worked on a design she had seen with A Star Wars theme. I really love the R2D2 nail...he was always my fave!! Checkout Cats snazzy nails!!!

Hope you enjoy checkin out our art and watchin us learn! Im tryin to post every Tuesday and Friday at least....and whenever I have something fun to share!!!

Happy Polishing!! :D

Love for Betsey Johnson!!

I love many designers for the great colors they use. Betsey Johnson is one of my faves!! Lookin at her quirky colors mixed with classic designs they are a natural inspiration for nail art. I don't know exactly who to credit with this nail art design,  I have seen it a few times online, but I couldn't wait to give it a try!

I even added a funky splash to my pedicure.....

Its a fun Summer look!! Happy Polishing!!

I'm BATMAN

I just wanted to post some quickie nail art I did for the premiere. My youngest son Bryce loves superheroes and Batman is one of his faves...although Spiderman is #1 lol. He asked if I could make Batman fingernails on my pretend hand (the one I use to practice on).

Feeling Inspired!

This weeks art time was loaded with Inspiration!! We had a class on Monday with OPI educator Jeanny Perez (from http://www.unitynailboutique.com) so on Tuesday we were ready to go! I wanted to work on my painting skills and practice some designs I had found on the internet. One of my favorite sources for design inspirations is Robin Moses http://robinmosesnailart.blogspot.com. I also was in the fabric department and saw some prints I wanted to try and recreate on nails. Sara did an awesome "minion" nail that is just so cute!! We are workin on a full set of Incredible Me nails!! lol Check out some pics of the work we did!! (working on gettin good pics of nails...not as easy as it may seem! lol)
This is my "bandanna nail"

My teacher Ms. Billie loved this daisy one....and she doesn't even like flowery stuff!! lol

Being a Florida Beach Grrrl....I had to try this Flamingo design I had seen.
I saw one like this on the Robin Moses site. Had a juicy look to it!!

Had to represent the Jersey Grrlz!

I love this one, makes me think of Christian Louboutin shoes!

And my favorite is the minion design Sara did, also a gradient animal print and beautiful scroll work.

Happy Polishing!

Welcome to My World!!

Hey Everyone! I am a cosmetology student at North Florida Academy in north Florida. I'm learning everything in the beauty industry, but I love doing nails and I'm looking forward to a career as a nail tech in a few months. My friend Sara and I love doing nail art and started a weekly "painting time". Tuesdays quickly became "Tuesday Nail Club"! We pour over magazines and internet, as well as other things, to inspire nail designs. Then Tuesdays we pull out all of our polish and art tools.....an we have a lot..... and paint and glitter and polish!!! Some designs work......others are learning experiences, but all of them are creative fun!!

I will blog and post pictures from our Tuesdays sessions, as well as interesting tips, techniques and trends I learn about nails!! I hope you will have fun following me and my friends on our journey through school and beyond.

Let the fun begin!!! Happy Polishing :)
